I played a bit and really like the concept of detective on a noir city. I especially liked the map artwork.
I do have some critiques. During combat, my eyes are glued to the background because of the combination of bright white elements against pure black. The thing with the biggest contrast should be the characters, not the background. The textbox displaying what the enemy is doing is especially easy to miss because of this.
I like the idea of having two different ways of winning. However, I don't know if there is a short or long term difference to beating the enemy or sleuthing them. Does one give more rewards? Does it affect the story? Etc.
Lastly, there are some technical issues. The Fullscreen isn't working. The viewport does not expand. And most glaringly, the cat does this very weird thing where he speeds up if left alone for too long. It becomes so fast that it starts creating afterimages. No, really, it looks like a JoJo character when they achieve super speed.
I uploaded a vid of the issue. Its an unlisted link so it shouldnt appear to ppl on YouTube. Not edited btw
